Chronology of cameras American Advertising and Research Corp
This camera is similar to the Earl Products Scenex.
It was used as a promotional gift by the toothpaste brand Pepsodent. In 1940, one had to send in a package of the brand's product along with 15 cents to receive the camera.
This particular camera was manufactured in Chicago, the city of Candid Camera.
The plastic used for its manufacturing is very light and thin, quite different from the Bakelite of that time.
